Note: Richard Russell lived with my ?????Dad's family towards the end of his life.
He had dropsy and was very ill and in pain with it (My Dad had to share a bedroom with him -Dad was a teenager at the time) Apparently ,one morning he waited until
Dad had got up and then cut his own throat with an old-fashioned razor. He was not supposed to be buried in the churchyard,as it was suicide,but because he was much admired for the way he'd managed to bring up his children after Clara died,he was allowed to be buried on consecrated ground.
